Line chart
Alternatively referred to as a line graph, a line chart is a graphic representation of data that is plotted using a series of lines. Line charts display lines going across the chart horizontally, with the values axis being displayed on the left side of the chart. In the below picture, is an example of a line chart showing unique visitors to Computer Hope. As can be seen in this example, you can quickly visually see increases and decreases each year over several different years.
