A device that is connected to the SCSI (small computer system interface) interface. The SCSI device functions on its own and only uses the SCSI interface to communicate with the rest of the computer. Some examples of SCSI devices are hard drives, CD-ROM (compact disc read-only memory) drives, tape drives, and scanners.
