Text mode

  1. Also known as character mode or alphanumeric mode, text mode is a display mode where the display is divided into rows and columns of boxes only showing alphanumeric characters.
  2. A mode of a software program where only text is displayed. For example, a user may set their Internet browser to only display text and no images.
