User profile

A directory of stored user settings, information, and other information pertaining to the user account. For example, a user profile may have the settings for his or her installed programs and operating system. A user profile that is stored on a home computer is often unique to the computer it is stored on and allows each user who logs onto that computer to have their own personal settings. However, a user profile that is stored on a network server allows the user to keep their settings regardless of the computer they're on as long as they log into their account.

A userprofile is It is also an environment variable holding this directory path. For example, using %userprofile% in a batch file would allow you to copy, move, or otherwise manipulate the Windows users profile directory without actually knowing the users profile name.
