RIP Street1
« on: March 02, 2010, 02:18:20 PM »
It's with my deepest regret to inform the community that Street1 (Robert J Street) sadly died of lung cancer on Feb 17, 2010. Street1 was a fantastic guy, a great helper, truly a kind and funny human being, and it's a great loss that he's parted this earth.

My deepest condolences go out to his family and if they need anything don't hesitate to ask. I'd ask the community and those who knew him to share their good memories of him.

As I've posted elsewhere, Robert will be sorely missed by all that knew him.  I regret never having been able to meet the man.
He's had a huge impact on my life, and on others I'm sure, and he was just such a genuine person, whether helping on the forums, cracking jokes, or most of all being a good friend.  I would not be exaggerating to say that he's one of the people who's had the greatest impact on my life so far, and I would certainly not be who I am today without his influence and guidance.
I don't know how to express how I feel right now.
He was a rock to many people, myself included.  Always there to lend a helping hand at any time, in any way.
This is a very sad day.
My thoughts are with his family and friends.

Like I said in other places, I can't really say much other than you're in a better place, dude. And maybe, if you're lucky, people up there need help with their computers too.  :-\

Thank you Nathan for Notifying me,
I woke up this morning to check my emails on my birthday and this is the first thing I read. Unfortunately I am not able to participate on the forum anymore but I wish I had been able to come once and spoken to him atleast once before this...
I will miss you my buddy and I will always remember you.

Robert was a great man who seemed to want nothing more than to help others and make them laugh.  He will be sorely missed.

We'll keep an eye on that wiley ol' peckerwood for you...

Peckerwood was a real bird right? I could have swore that I saw street1 say this somewhere. He was a woodpecker that lived on or around the nursery and street1 had befriended him.
