Windows Defender 1.1.1593
« on: February 26, 2012, 08:55:16 PM »
Hi All, I found Windows Defender as a freeware. Can you recommend this free software to your business clients that needs anti-spyware for production servers (Windows Server 2003)?

Any thoughts and recommendations?

There are many better alternatives to Windows Defender/M$ Security Essentials:

Avira Free and AVG are two examples of free antivirus systems that have a higher proactive and reactive detection rate than WinDefender. But I don't know how easy or convenient it would be to deploy such programs on a large scale...

I'm not a fan. I always found Defender to be a resource hog and not as good as MalwareBytes or Super AntiSpyware.
