I am attempting to format C Drive following virus. I have got to MS-DOS via floppy but cannot change directory to C:\
If I attempt to format C under A:\ it tells me I have an incorrect command.

You don't have FORMAT on the floppy.

Download a boot floppy from http://www.bootdisk.com and you'll be all set.

Can you boot to the floppy (you may have to enter BIOS to change the boot order to have the floppy first)? Once you have, you can use FDISK to change partitions and FORMAT to prepare the drive. Then you can reboot and install a new OS...
