Everything is working fine except I can no longer put a cd in the drives and get it to work. The drives themselves work but nothing happens on the computer.
1. What works?
a. Do the drive drawers work (go in/out)?
b. Does Windows XP assign drive "letters" to the CD drive(s)? What are they?
c. Can you browse the contents of the CD disk?
2. What doesn't work?
3. Does your BIOS recognize the CD drives? Enter CMOS setup and look to see if your CD drive(s) are recognized by the BIOS.
4. What type of interface connects the CD drives to the computer (IDE / SCSI / USB)? Enter CMOS setup and look to see what their interface is.
5. If they use an IDE channel, make sure the Master/Slave jumper on back of drive is set correctly.
6. If they are SCSI make sure the SCSI bus is terminated at each end.
