    Chronic Crashing
    « on: November 26, 2008, 06:05:12 PM »
    Hey Guys,

I have a problem with my computer where about every hour it will crash, and reboot after giving me the blue screen. Just before it crashes, the fan speed will increase dramatically for about 5-6 seconds. Im pretty it is not something where I will have to buy anything new, as I have had this problem in the past, and fixed it at one point. Unfortunately I can not remember how. I am not quite sure if it is a Vista problem but i'm posting it here just in case. If you need any information, feel free to ask.

                                 Thanks in Advance!

    1. Please, post some computer info:
    - processor type, amount of RAM (hold Windows key, hit Pause/Break key)
    - hard drive size/free space (open "My Computer", right click on hard drive letter, click "Properties")

    2. Download, and install SpeedFan: http://www.almico.com/sfdownload.php
    Post your computer temperatures:

Provide processor info (hold Windows key, and hit Pause/Break key to find out).

    3. What does BSOD say?

            1. Right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.

            2. Click the Advanced tab (Vista: click Advanced system settings).

            3. Under Startup and Recovery, click Settings to open the Startup and Recovery dialog box.

            4. Clear the Automatically restart check box, and click OK the necessary number of times.

            5. Restart your computer for the settings to take effect.

SpeedFan doesn't fix anything. We want to see what your computer temps are.

Keep using the computer, and watch those temps. See, if they go up with the time passing.
Your processor max temp is listed at 62.2C
