Right click bottom bar between clock and start and open task manager and end what ever you think is causing you trouble

Nice steady progress, keep it up :)
As for your question, how long is a piece of string?  Heehee ...

i cant do any F@H while doing anything else
      especally C compileing
if i tried to do F@H while C compileing
i would have a thermal shutdown
and lose F@H progress and compiling progress at the same time
and that would get me mad
You have some major hardware issues if you get a thermal shutdown when you load up your processor.
I really think you should address that problem, if F@H can do it then so will most intensive programs.  I find F@H to be less intensive on my CPU and graphics card than many other tasks.

I just installed the new nVIDIA Geforce 9400 GT Graphics card, how do I use it to start folding ? I am downloading CUDA now, so do I delete Folding@Home and reinstall it to change the processing?
        Thanks
        Hubert

You don't need any of the CUDA packages, they're mainly for developers.
Just grab the latest drivers from the Nvidia site and install them, then download and install the F@H GPU client.
The console client is better than the system tray one, as the viewer in the system tray client can cause major slowdowns.
You'll have to fold for a large amount of time each day with a 9400GT to make any deadlines, I fold with a 9500GT which is around twice as fast and it completes most small/medium units in around 12 hours, larger ones obviously take much longer.  This isn't a long time comapred to the standard CPU client, however the deadlines on the GPU units are usually around 3 days.

Links - Nvidia drivers for Vista 32-bit (which I'm assuming you're using, if I'm wrong don't use them).
F@H GPU client and setup guide.

Hope this helps, and as always if you have any problems feel free to ask.
        Fold on!

There's no need to delete the old client, no.
By the way, it may be helpful if you could take some time to fill out the computer specs section in your profile.  That way everyone can see what you're using to fold on, and maybe suggest ways to improve.  Additionally, if you ever have any computer problems, filling out that section saves people having to ask each time what your specs are.

If you follow the guide that Calum linked to, you will end up with both your CPU client and a GPU client.  There is no need to delete the CPU folding because you can still run the CPU client while the GPU client is running.

I tried to follow all the instructions for the client, but I don't think it is running? Should this client show up in program files ?

First step of the "Console installation guide" tells you where to put the program.  It is not to be installed in the programs folder, because that may cause issues.  The guide really takes a step-by-step approach.  It's a pain to follow, but it's really the best way to do it.  There are lots of places you can go wrong.
