    weird dots-solved
    « on: June 26, 2009, 03:17:04 PM »
    Hello everyone,

    heres my problem:
yesterday i was playing the sims 2 .. and then the game freezed and the screen started to blink .. i closed the non responding game in task mgr and tried again.. it did again after a while.. so i restarted pc and on the first screen it shows me with the intel logos and stuff.. the intel logo had weird grey[i think] dots in background and some other logo too .. then next screen had the dots everywhere too.. then the windows loading screen with windows xp logo too .. grey dots in rows int he background .. after that a new screen appeared it was black with dark blue dots in rows.. then pc restarted by itse;lf after a while .. and it kept doing this ovfer and over again ..second time it does i though theres this win xp screen asking me to start win normally or safe mode. if i choose normally it does the same thing again with the dots if i go to safe mode with networking the windows works normally! but in safe mode of course ..

heres what other people suggested on other forums:
clean fans from dust: cleaned my wjhole case its almost dust-free right now-didnt help
used cprogram for cleaning registry-didnt help
    virus scan:didnt help
    disc cleanup-didnt help
updated graphics card and motherboard drivers-didnt help

so please does anyone here have any suggestions whati should try? thanks very much this is 3rd forum im looking for help at  :( ???

      How about a screen shot.....?

Check that your monitor connections are secure....reseat your video card.......run another scan with Malwarebytes.

Someone may suggest you have floaters.......be leery.

When you reboot the computer go into safe mode.  When it's posting or displaying the computer manufacturers logo press the F8 key repeatedly.
Once you are in safe mode take a look at your video settings, you can either access this through the Control Panel, or by right clicking on the desktop.
Set the colors to the highest displayed, and adjust your resolution to where you want.

You could also just reinstall your video driver and see if that fixes it.  You may have to do that from safe mode however.
      Evil is an exact science.

Remember to unplug your PC, touch the case before you touch the video card, handle it by the edges....remove and then replace.

I would try reinstalling the driver first.  It's less labor intensive and I'm a lazy sod :)
