Some applications will support the command:
CTRL+ALT+C for the copyright symbol.

Or ALT+0169
(thats holding alt and then typing 0169)

I just verified the above in my version of Adobe Photoshop and had no issues. Try the following:

1. In Photoshop click the horizontal text tool to insert text.
2. In the Type Tool press and hold Alt and while holding alt type 0169 on the key pad.

Word, Excel, WordPad, or even Notepad will work. I mean the Alt/0169 technique works with them. Ctrl/Alt/C also works with Word.

ned1, what key on your keyboard has the copyright symbol?  What character types when you hit that key?

If all else fails, you could go to Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Character Map.  Find the the © symbol, click on it, click on Select, and click on Copy.  You can then paste it wherever needed.  It's not the most efficient method, though.
