Google surpasses Microsoft as world's most-visited site
« on: April 27, 2007, 02:55:23 PM »
It's official: Google rules the world.

The Mountain View search engine has outstripped Microsoft on two fronts, becoming both the most visited Web site and the most valuable global brand.

My guess would be that it's the IE users who still have their home page set to a Microsoft related page and/or using the default Microsoft search engine.

I believe the metrics takes into account all domains msn.com, microsoft.com, xbox.com, etc. and counts it as Microsoft.

Heh, 99% of all our school computers use Google as their home page. Any that still use msn.com as a home page, I change it to Google for future convenience, so I can "get in, get out, then wash up after using the so-called 'Pentium 4' which is as slow as heck."

There. I singlehandedly caused this upset. :P

Could be the people using Windows/Microsoft/Office Update too.
And don't forget all the people looking for solutions to problems on their site, or downloading other things.
I still can't believe they had 527 million visitors, and rising.
