Okay, so if this is in the wrong place, properly file it for me. Thanks!

My media player doesn't work. It will play for maybe 5 seconds, the pic will freeze for maybe 45 then this process will repeat itself until I get sick of it and stop the darned thing. Help please!

What media player? What version? and what OS are you running? It would also be helpful to know what else the PC is doing when your trying to play a movie or song.

This Emachine is loaded with Windows Vista, I know it has Windows Media Player. I have no idea if any others. I also have no idea what else is runnng while trying to use the WMP. I know I have McAfee in the background.

I ran a HiJackThis and posted its results somewhere in here a few months back.

Also, today I tried listening to a radio intervie online through a link. The player said AOL Medi Player, it did the same thing as the WMP only it didn't take as long between plays. It was audible for 6 seconds and dwon for 10 in a repeating pattern.

I'll try and find the report from HJT and direct you to it if it helps.

Does it happen to on-line media files, or to standalone media files, as well?

OK, using your browser, you're trying to listen to some interview, and it freezes. What browser?
Can you play regular movie from DVD, music from CD?

Broni, all I can tell you is this: there is or are links to tv programs or songs that I would like to listen to but my player doesn't work properly.  I don't know if the thing is even set up properly.  I do know I had the same problem with my player on my old comp.  Is it possible that the modem hook up by phone is the problem?

I spoke with an Emachines tech today who advised me to restore the system. But I don't think the player ever played properly.  I was trying to get the system requirements for the darned thing but, no luck.

Broni & guys, tell me the pros and cons of Mozilla vs IE. And, if I load this what happens to the other(s) Browser?

Nothing happens. It's always very good idea to have at least two browsers for troubleshooting purposes.

How do I check to see which browser I am actually using.  In my utility bar at the bottom next to the start button is a drop that has the following:

                1. Launch Internet Explorer Browser

                2. AOL 9.1 (version I am using)

                3. Windows Media Player

Now, does #1 mean that I am not using IE Browser?

AOL browser is just an offspring of IE (practically same thing).
Whatever browser, external links open, is your current default browser.

Broni, I'm gonna have to talk with someone about Mozilla. I have asked questions regarding one vs the other browser but no forthcoming info, so I will talk with people who may give me in depth advice about the pros and cons of loading Mozilla. You know I don't want anything that may cause me frustrations.

I'll get back with you guys. Thanks...
