Firstly make sure you are typing the correct passcode in?

Secondly, have you changed the passcode from the original? i know in some cases the passcode is actualy on the router itself?

        WEP or WPA encryption?

Does the new laptop detect the network you set up?

If its a new computer, it wont pick up the password, its a security thing.  You have to connect to your network and put in the key on the new one.  Once you put it in you shouldn't have to put it in again, it will automatically acquire it.

It pick's up the wirefeed and when I asks for the passcode and I type it in it tells me it's wrong.....

That's part of why I was asking earlier if this was WEP, or WPA?  WEP will require the thirteen or twenty-six digit keys.

WPA should just only need the password, once the network is detected.

Like Aegis said, which one is it?  And if its saying the code is wrong, you have to be putting it in wrong or putting in the wrong set of numbers.  It can't be wrong, there's one password for you access point, it cant be one code for your pc and one for your laptop.

That would make sense...when I typed in the password I know it's says something about the 13 and 26 didget code...

Where do I go from here??

well- you could reset the router via it's reset switch. This will set it back to defaults, including no WEP or WPA.

I was trying to dereference Null Pointers before it was cool.

there should be. Usually, it's on the back and inset into it, you might need a pen or paper clip to press it.
All routers I've seen so far have one.

It should no longer ask for a passcode.

After you reset it it needs to reinitialize, which might take a minute or so, so don't try connecting right away.
