A4
A4 is an international standard paper size defined by ISO (standard ISO 216). Its dimensions are 210 x 297 mm, or 8.27 x 11.69 inches. Its height-to-width aspect ratio is approximately the square root of 2 (1.414) to one.
A4 size paper is similar to, but should not be mistaken for, Letter size paper (8.5 x 11 inches), a standard paper size used in the United States.

A4 dimensions in pixels
If you're working with a picture in Adobe Photoshop or another image editor, the picture is likely measured in pixels. Below are the measurements of A4 using pixels in common DPI (Dots Per Inch) settings.
When working with print images, the typical DPI is 300 DPI. However, most images on the Internet are 72 DPI.
- A4 at 72 DPI: 695 x 842 pixels.
- A4 at 300 DPI: 2480 x 3508 pixels.
- A4 at 600 DPI: 4960 x 7016 pixels.
- A4 at 1200 DPI: 9921 x 14032 pixels.
Purchasing A4 paper
When purchasing A4 paper at an office store or online, the paper will be labeled as A4. In the example picture shown on this page, you can see the "A4" writing in the bottom-right corner of the paper packaging.
