Column break

Updated: 01/18/2023 by Computer Hope

A column break is a code inserted by a software program (e.g., word processor) to indicate to break the text at the current cursor position into the next available column. If your document doesn't have two or more columns, the column break would be treated as a page break.

Tip

The shortcut key Ctrl+Shift+Enter can insert a column break.
