Latency

Latency may refer to any of the following:

1. Latency is the time required for a computer on a network to respond to a request. The lower the number, the faster the response.
2. When referring to hardware, latency is the time required for a computer hardware device to respond to a request made by another device. However, in the cast of hardware, latency is more commonly called access time.
