A mark may refer to any of the following:
1. A mark is a software's ability to change the look or appearance of an object once a user views its contents. Marks are helpful because they allow users to see what they've viewed or help them to find that object later. For example, most websites, including this one, change the color of visited hyperlinks to help the user know what they've already seen.
2. With HTML (HyperText Markup Language), the <mark> tag highlights a section of text.
3. Mark can also be an abbreviation for the Manchester Mark 1 computer.
