Alternatively known as a link exchange, reciprocal links are hyperlinks between two web pages in exchange for the other page linking back. They are an important part of search engine optimization as engines like Google rank the web pages in their results by the number of different pages linked to yours. A site can increase its rank in the search engine's results by participating in link exchanges.

Note

If a page does not link back, it is considered a non-reciprocal link.
