Computer speakers receive interference.

Issue:

Computer speakers receive interference.

Cause:

Note: This issue is related to computer speakers picking up such interference as a radio, scanner, CB, phone or an other wireless signal.

This issue could be caused by any of the below possibilities.

  1. Opening in computer case
  2. Computer placement
  3. Speaker placement
  4. Speaker issue

Solution:

Opening in computer case

This issue is generally caused when there is an opening allowing wireless signals to enter or be trapped within a computer.

Ensure that all drive bays are covered and that all slots for expansion on the back of the computer that are not being used are covered.

Computer placement

It is possible that the placement of the computer could cause it to pickup interference. If possible, attempt to adjust or move the computer to an alternate location. For example, try moving the computer to the floor instead of on top of a desk.

Speaker placement

Again, the placement of such a peripheral or wiring to a peripheral could cause interference. If your speakers are on top of a desk or shelf, attempt to move the speakers to an alternate location.

Speaker issue

It is also possible that the speakers themselves could also have issues with wiring or the actual EMI shields within the speakers. Consider trying an alternate pair of speakers.
