TheftGuard

Security protection created by Softex that is used with some laptops and handled through the computer BIOS. This protection scheme helps protect laptops that are stolen by not allowing the thief's to simply erase the hard disk drive and remove any protection that is installed. In addition to this extra protection if the stolen laptop is connected to the Internet the owner can choose to disable that laptop, download and save important data, remotely use it and track the laptops location.
  • Additional information on steps you can do to help prevent laptop theft as well as make it less painful if it does occur can be found on document CH001012.
