WHOIS
- A command used on some chat networks, such as IRC, that enables a user to find out additional information about a user such as their hostname, IP address, channels they're logged into, or how long they've been logged in for. For example, if the users name was mrhope you'd type /whois mrhope to display information about him.
- A Linux and Unix command that enables a user to find additional information about a domain. See the Linux whois command page for further information.
- A search that enables users to find out additional information about a domain, the registrar of the domain, and other technical information.
