Updated: 11/12/2023 by Computer Hope
Founded in 2003 by Chris Lin, Xgi Technology Inc. (sometimes called Xtreme Graphics Innovation) was headquartered in Taipei, Taiwan. It was based upon the old graphics division of Silicon Integrated Systems (SiS) and operated as a separate company from 2003 to 2010.
In 2003, XGI released the Volari Duo, a video card with two GPUs to remain competitive with ATI and NVIDIA, which were the two largest GPU manufacturers globally, with unfavorable success.
On May 27, 2010, Silicon Integrated Systems (SiS) took control of XGI Technology and its iTV technology and, by October 2010, acquired the rest of XGI's assets.
