You originally posted about having problems with Windows updates.
Maybe, we should start with this problem, first.
What are those problems?

We know that you said that you fixed the original Windows update problem but an explanation of that problem may shed some light on the current problem.

What was wrong, any error messages? How did you fix it?

I didn't really fix windows update.  What I did was install each update one by one.  That is how I got to install all of them. I didn't get any error messages that I recall. yes java is turned on in IE7 (as far as I know).

What happens when you go to Windows Update?

When i try to go to windows update through internet explorer, the page won't load.  I have to go through the microsoft website and then try to download them.  When I downloaded them all together there were about 50 that could not be downloaded.  There was no error message that I saw.

You might try this. It worked for me and many  others.
Re-register the Windows Update DLL with the commands below

Click Start, click Run, type cmd, and then click OK.

Type the following commands. Press ENTER after each command. Wait for succeeded after each entry before proceding to the next entry.

regsvr32 wuapi.dll
regsvr32 wuaueng.dll
regsvr32 wuaueng1.dll
regsvr32 wucltui.dll
regsvr32 wups.dll
regsvr32 wups2.dll
regsvr32 wuweb.dll

I tried to register the components by following the last post on how to do this.  That still didn't change anything.  I also tried to download and run that program about windows update that still didn't help.  I have a question about the program to fix windows update, should I reinstall internet explorer?  All I have for a cd for my computer is my recovery cd.  I a at a loss once again.  Please help.  Thank you in advance.

Just my opinion - at this time I think that I would re-install from the recovery disk, again.

The updates could not be installed.  They could be downloaded but not installed.  Also I tried to reinstall everything from the recovery disk and nothing changed.

How did you re-install - step by step?

Did you receive any error messages during the recovery (re-install of the operating system)?

Is this the correct recovery disk for your computer?

What is the make and model of your computer?
