Created in 2007, Bandcamp is a music streaming platform with a focus on independent musicians and bands. Unlike most modern music services, like Spotify and Apple Music, Bandcamp is based on the traditional business model of purchasing individual songs and albums. Before you are prompted to buy a song on Bandcamp, it can be streamed several times for free.

The revenue from a Bandcamp sale directly supports the artist or label who uploaded it, after a 10-15% royalty is taken by Bandcamp. For this reason, artists are allowed to set their own prices, or even use a "pay-what-you-want" system that encourages donations.

In addition to digital music sales, Bandcamp allows artists to create and sell t-shirts, vinyl records, and other merchandise. Fans can also follow artists on community pages to view forum posts, find concerts, and connect with other fans.

In March 2022, Bandcamp was purchased by Epic Games.
