EMR may refer to any of the following:
1. Electromagnetic radiation, or EMR, is any energy that travels in the form of a wave on the electromagnetic spectrum. It includes visible light, microwaves, ultraviolet rays, x-rays, and radio waves. In some form, these waves are emitted from every electronic device. This radiation can include light from a computer monitor or small radio waves that enable Bluetooth or Wi-Fi devices to function.
2. An electronic medical record is a digitized version of a patient's medical information collected by a hospital or other health service providers. This record can be thought of as a nontransferable version of an EHR (Electronic Health Record), a file universally accessible by different practices working with a particular patient.
