Liquid crystal

Discovered by Friedrich Reintzer in 1888, liquid crystals are a substance with the properties of both liquid and a solid. For example, they can flow and tumble like a liquid, but still maintain a crystalline structure, which is commonly associated with solid matter. Liquid crystals are widely used today in most electronic displays.
