A Windows-based program is software that is designed to work on a computer running the Microsoft Windows operating system. These programs are designed to be installed and run locally on the Windows computer, and are usually compatible with multiple versions of Windows. Many Windows-based programs are not compatible with macOS used on Apple computers, and most are not compatible with computers running Linux.
