Planar Systems

Founded in 1983 by Jim Hurd, John Laney, Chris King, and others as a spin-off from Tektronix. Planar Systems, Inc. is a digital display manufacturing corporation with a facility in Hillsboro, Oregon. It was the first U.S. manufacturer of EL (electroluminescent) digital displays and currently makes other specialty displays, including LCD and OLED video walls, and computer monitors. Planar Systems, Inc. is a subsidiary of Leyard Optoelectronic Co. since 2015.
