Dead may refer to any of the following:

1. Dead is a term used to describe a computer component that is no longer functioning and cannot be fixed.

2. Dead is a term used to describe a software program or project that is no longer being developed due to various reasons. The software or project could be dead because of lack of funding, the company that created the program went out of business, or because a newer program was released. Software that is abandoned is more appropriately referred to as abandonware.
