A flood may refer to any of the following:

1. When referring to computers, networks, software, a flood is any information or data overflow that causes other users grief or causes other computers, hardware, or software to fail. For example, with a Denial of Service (DoS) attack, millions of invalid packets could be sent to a network and cause the network or server to fail or slow down.

2. Another name for chat or forum Spam.
