magicJack

The magicJack is a device that allows a computer user to make unlimited phone calls to the U.S. and Canada using an Internet connection. The device connects to the computer's USB (universal serial bus) port and has an RJ-11 phone jack into which a standard telephone cable can be plugged. It was released in 2008.
An updated model called the magicJack Plus, that requires an Internet connection but does not require a computer, was released in 2011.
