Static may refer to any of the following:
1. Another term used to describe constant. For example, many web pages are static HTML pages, which means none of the content being displayed was generated by other code or a script. Static pages will not change unless the creator manually makes a change to the file.
2. An electrical discharge, see our ESD definition for further information about a static discharge, aka ESD, and the potential dangers it can cause to a computer or electronics.
