Initially released as VKontakte on October 10, 2006, VK is a popular social network that is primarily used in Russia. The platform allows users to post text, images, or other media that is presented to followers on a chronological timeline. Other features of VK include rating and commenting on posts, stories, and a messaging and voice chat system called VK Messenger. The VK Messenger can send messages to other users or create group conversations directly.
VK is accessible through an Internet browser or the free mobile application for iOS and Android smartphones.
