A workaround is a term used to describe either a temporary or permanent method of resolving an issue occurring with software or hardware. While a workaround may not be a true fix, they can be the only method of getting around an issue with no fix. Typically a workaround is required when the company responsible for fixing the problem has not found a fix, is out of business, or no longer supports a product.
