Founded by Michael Robertson in August 2001, Linspire was formerly known as Lindows OS and is a company who develops and operating system based on Linux and Ubuntu. In July of 2008, Linspire was acquired by Xandros, Inc.
Xandros was founded in 2001and is a provider of Linux-based server, Desktop, and Windows-Linux cross-platform systems management tools.
In 2013 their website went offline and has not returned and appears to be no longer in business.
