Green may refer to any of the following:

LED status lights

1. Green is the color of an LED (light-emitting diode) that indicates on, active, or running. A solid (non-flashing) green LED indicates either that a device has power or is in constant use. However, when a green LED is flashing, this often indicates that traffic or information is being processed.

If you are unsure what the LED indicates on your computer product, refer to the computer or networking product manual for additional information.

2. With HTML (hypertext markup language), green is represented as the HTML color code #008000, which is hexadecimal for 0 red, 128 green, and 0 blue.

3. Green describes a device or service that's energy efficient. For example, a computer that conserves power is often called a Green PC.

4. With color-coded ports, green is the color used to identify the PS/2 mouse port, and if lime green, the line out port used for headphones. See our color-coded page for further information and other color-coded colors.

5. Someone new or unexperienced is considered green. For example, if you are new to computers, you are considered green or a newbie.
