Microsoft Teams

Introduced in 2017, Microsoft Teams is a program included in the Microsoft Office 365 suite of business applications. It combines features from numerous other Microsoft productivity apps to allow users to collaborate on projects. Features of Microsoft Teams include group video chat, text chat, file sharing and storage, and integration with other Office applications, like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Microsoft Teams includes features previously found in Skype for Business, a collaboration app that uses Skype for file sharing and collaboration.

For businesses that use SharePoint, its content is accessible through Microsoft Teams, allowing users to collaborate without opening the content from SharePoint. Microsoft Teams has live video streaming, which is useful for streaming meetings or conferences to many employees without needing services like GoToMeeting, Webex, or Zoom.
