Phone splitter illustration

A cable or plug that splits one connection into multiple connections. Some early modems required a splitter to be connected to the back of them. However, most modems today now have two phone connections and no longer require a splitter, the splitters used today splitters are often used to connect multiple phones to a single jack. As you can see in the below illustration, one end would connect to the wall and the other end allows two connectors to be connected into it.
