Used as a unit of measurement, TTFB is an acronym for time to first byte. It describes the amount of time it takes for a single byte to transfer from a server to a client when loading a web page for the first time. The lower TTFB a page has, the less time it takes for the page to be accessed. This metric is useful to developers when optimizing web pages and search engines when ranking them.
