100 Mbps

Abbreviated as Mb (lowercase b) or Mbit, a megabit and is 1,000,000 (106) bits. It measures a quantity of data. When divided by a unit of time, such as seconds, it measures the rate that data is transferred. For example, "100 Mbps" represents 100 megabits per second, which is one possible speed of a network card.

Tip

When the "b" is uppercase (MB), this refers to a megabyte.

What comes before a megabit?

A kilobit comes before a megabit.

What comes after a megabit?

A gigabit comes after a megabit.
