First announced in October 2011, Adobe Creative Cloud, or Creative Cloud, is a cloud-based software as a service offering from Adobe Systems. It grants its users access to a collection of Adobe software programs that are used to perform many different tasks. These applications include web development, graphic design, animation, video editing, and photo editing.

How does it work?

The Creative Cloud service requires the user to pay a monthly or annual subscription fee and is available only online. Any software included in the user's subscription may be downloaded from the Internet, and then installed their devices as long as the subscription does not expire. Creative Cloud is hosted on Amazon Web Services, is available in multiple languages, and is frequently updated.

On May 6, 2013, Adobe announced that they would no longer release new versions of their popular Creative Suite bundles. Going forward, Adobe software is only accessible via a Creative Cloud subscription, permanent licenses are no longer available for purchase.
