Diffchecker

Diffchecker is an online tool that allows users to compare similar media types. For example, Diffchecker looks for missing words or characters, inconsistencies with capitalization, punctuation, and other differences with text or a document. In addition to text, Diffchecker can also analyze images, PDFs, spreadsheets, and, with a paid subscription, even the contents of folders.

The base service is free with ads and runs in the browser without downloading software. However, there are $6 and $9/month subscriptions that include features like real-time text differences, folder comparison, and a desktop app.

How to use Diffchecker

1. At the top of the screen, select the type of media you want to compare.

2. For anything that's been typed, copy and paste the different text to the two large fields in the middle of the screen. For any of the other four options, you must drag-and-drop the file into the boxes, or click the Open from file button and locate them manually.
