Platform

A platform is a description of the overall standard of a computer's hardware or software. For example, when referring to a hardware platform, x86 may be used or type of processor may also be used for example a 32-bit or 64-bit AMD or Intel processor. When describing a software platform, Microsoft Windows XP (wintel), macOS, or Linux may be used.
