Tip

On Windows computers, the keyboard shortcut to toggle italics is Ctrl+I.

How to use the Command+I keyboard shortcut

To use this keyboard shortcut, press and hold either Command key, and while continuing to hold, press I.

Command+I in an Internet browser

In Firefox, pressing Command+I opens the Page Info window.

Command+I with text

In word processors and text editors, Command+I performs different functions based on highlighting. If no text is highlighted, pressing this keyboard shortcut turns the italic feature on or off at the cursor's location.
